[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Field Robotics Laboratory of Professor Seo Jin-ho, majoring in Mechanical Systems Engineering at Pukyong National University, was recently selected as the 'Busan Artificial Intelligence Robot Industry-Academic Cooperation Designated Laboratory.'
The 'Busan Artificial Intelligence Robot Industry-Academic Cooperation Designated Laboratory' is one of the programs promoted by the Korea Institute of Robot Convergence's 2022 Busan Artificial Intelligence Robot Utilization Corporate Competitiveness Advancement Project.
The project aims to support the strengthening of competitiveness of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises through the convergence and utilization of manufacturing, medical rehabilitation, marine industry, robotics, and artificial intelligence technologies in the Busan region.
With the project selection, Pukyong National University's Field Robotics Laboratory will operate the 'Robot Business Start-up Program' this year and support the utilization of robot technology by local small and medium-sized enterprises.
Specifically, it will provide infrastructure such as professional personnel and equipment to small and medium-sized enterprises in the Busan area that need to introduce or commercialize robot technology, and support industry-academic cooperation including technology collaboration and commercialization verification.
Pukyong National University's Field Robotics Laboratory researches robot mechanisms and system integration control, and is engaged in developing disaster response robot technology, underwater robots and smart aquaculture technology, and fundamental/core technologies for field robots.
