Gyeonggi Office of Education Organizational Restructuring... Emphasizing 'Efficient Promotion of Gyeonggi Future Education'

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is reorganizing its structure. This measure aims to steadily implement the major education policies of the 5th elected administration and realize "the center of future education, new Gyeonggi education."

The Gyeonggi Office of Education announced on the 5th that it plans to submit the "Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on the Establishment of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Administrative Organization" to the Gyeonggi Provincial Council on the 21st, after a legislative notice period from the 4th to the 11th of this month.

According to the reorganization plan, under the First Deputy Superintendent, there will be the Planning and Coordination Office, the Education Administration Bureau, and the External Cooperation Bureau; under the Second Deputy Superintendent, the Education Policy Bureau and the Convergence Education Bureau will be established. The existing Future Education Bureau will be abolished, and its affiliated departments will be integrated and reorganized by similar functions within the Education Policy Bureau and the Convergence Education Bureau.

The Gyeonggi Office of Education reflected in this reorganization plan matters such as ▲ the relocation of the Gyeonggi Lifelong Education Learning Center and the Gyeonggi Central Education Library ▲ the renaming of the Gyeonggi Language Education Training Institute and the Gyeonggi Innovation Education Training Institute ▲ the addition of the Gyeonggi Student Swimming Pool institution.

Lee Yong-yong, Administrative Management Officer of the Gyeonggi Office of Education, explained, "This organizational reorganization aims to efficiently and systematically lead Gyeonggi's future education by reorganizing and downsizing the offices and bureaus of the provincial office of education by function," adding, "We focused on strengthening support for school sites by reallocating personnel to education support offices closer to the education field."

He continued, "To complement the limitations of the organizational reorganization, workload reduction at the field level, improvement of work forms, and work processing procedures will also be carried out," and added, "Even if the departments under the First and Second Deputy Superintendents change, the work location will not immediately change, and it will be reviewed again in line with the future relocation of the Gwanggyo office."
