[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do, will fully open the car wash facilities at its seven agricultural machinery rental centers to farmers.
The city announced on the 5th that, as part of the promise to citizens in the 8th local government term to "revitalize the agricultural machinery rental business," it will provide free self-service car wash facilities at the agricultural machinery rental centers starting from the 7th.
Farmers are required to wash the agricultural machinery after renting and returning it at the centers, but there have been inconveniences such as lack of proper washing locations or methods and associated costs.
Additionally, improperly washed agricultural machinery has caused issues such as shortened lifespan and hindrance to safe operation.
The city expects that the free opening of the car wash facilities will improve convenience for users of rented agricultural machinery and allow for cleaner and more efficient management of the equipment.
The car wash facilities are equipped with high-pressure washers that can easily remove soil and dirt from agricultural machinery, as well as wastewater purification systems to treat contaminated water generated during washing.
The city plans to invest approximately 36 million KRW annually to treat wastewater containing soil, compost, and other materials classified as general waste.
A city official stated, "We expect to resolve the difficulties farmers faced regarding agricultural machinery washing," and added, "We will do our best to provide services without inconvenience in agricultural machinery rental use, in line with the increasing demand for rental to reduce agricultural management costs."
