[Asia Economy Reporter Bang Je-il] Angelina Jolie has revealed more details about the in-flight brawl she had with her ex-husband Brad Pitt in 2016.
On the 4th (local time), according to the New York Times (NYT) and Variety in the United States, Jolie filed a countersuit in a Los Angeles court against Pitt's damages lawsuit related to a French wine estate.
Jolie and Pitt, who were a representative Hollywood star couple, had a severe fight on a private plane returning to California with their six children after a two-week vacation around September 2016. This fight eventually led to their divorce.
In August, an FBI investigation report containing Jolie's testimony about the in-flight brawl was reported by the media. In the complaint filed with the court this time, Jolie claimed that there was a more serious violent situation.
According to the complaint, the incident began when Pitt and Jolie fought in the airplane bathroom.
Jolie's side claims that Pitt grabbed Jolie's head and shoulders, shook her, pushed her toward the bathroom wall, and spilled alcohol on Jolie and the children.
In the court documents submitted, Jolie's side explained, "When one of the children defended Jolie, Pitt lunged at the child, and Jolie desperately held onto Pitt from behind," adding, "Pitt threw his body toward the airplane seats to break free from Jolie, causing her to injure her back and elbow."
Jolie's side also claimed that during this process, Pitt strangled one of the children and hit another child's face.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, once Hollywood's top couple, became lovers while filming the 2005 movie
After a long relationship, they lived almost like a married couple by volunteering together and adopting children, eventually marrying in 2014. However, their marriage ended in divorce after two years. Jolie filed for divorce against Pitt, and the two began legal battles.
At that time, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce alleging that Pitt abused the children. Pitt and Jolie have six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.
Meanwhile, Pitt and Jolie are also engaged in a legal dispute over the sale of the French vineyard Ch?teau Miraval winery, which they purchased together in 2008 for $28.4 million (about 40 billion KRW).
Earlier this year, Pitt filed a lawsuit claiming that Jolie violated contract rights by selling half of the Ch?teau Miraval shares without his knowledge.
Jolie's side claimed, "Pitt demanded that Jolie sign a confidentiality agreement not to speak out of court about Pitt's physical and emotional abuse of the children," adding, "This led to a breakdown in discussions with Pitt's legal representatives."
