[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] It was announced on the 5th that the Marine Healing Park established on Cheongsan Island in Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, has entered a pilot operation phase.

The Cheongsan Marine Healing Park is located in the pine forest on the beach of Sinheung-ri, Cheongsan-myeon, and consists of seven healing experience facilities: Smart Healing Hall, Seawater Mist Healing Hall, Sound Healing Hall, Fragrance Healing Hall, Seaweed Healing Hall, Herb Maekbanseok Healing Hall, and Food Healing Hall.

Since the 30th of last month, the Smart Healing Hall of the Marine Healing Park in pilot operation uses advanced information and communication technology (ICT) to measure blood pressure, stress, body composition, brain waves, etc., allowing visitors to experience personalized healing programs.

At the Seawater Mist Healing Hall, visitors experienced inhaling purified seawater with a salinity of 3 per mille (‰). Seawater inhalation is effective in alleviating respiratory diseases such as inflammation and rhinitis.

The Sound Healing Hall is a space where low-frequency sound waves are converted into vibrations that can be felt while sitting on a chair, providing a massage. Sound healing helps with posture correction and offers a perfect healing experience while overlooking the sea in front of Sinheung-ri, Cheongsan.

Visitors to the Marine Healing Park experienced various marine healing programs at the Herb Maekbanseok Healing Hall, which uses herb blankets and Maekbanseok heated beds; the Fragrance Healing Hall, which uses eucalyptus scent; and the Seaweed Healing Hall, where massages are done using mud packs made from Wando mudflats and seaweed extract, as well as heat cream made from yuzu.

At the Food Healing Hall, participants were provided with seaweed-based foods produced in Wando, such as tot muffins, kelp cookies, and Cheongsan Island barley coffee.

A participant from Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, said, “I fell in love with the scenery of Cheongsan Island and have visited every year, but the marine healing experience I tried for the first time relieved my stress and calmed my mind. It gave me another reason to come back to Cheongsan, and I want to recommend it to people around me.”

Shin Woo-cheol, the mayor of Wando-gun, stated, “The Marine Healing Park is a facility for improving the health of residents and tourists. We will develop various programs to further activate marine healing and strive to establish it as a new tourist attraction on Cheongsan Island.”

Meanwhile, the operating hours of the Cheongsan Marine Healing Park are every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. During the pilot operation period, it is free of charge without a participation fee. Those wishing to participate through prior reservation can contact the Marine Healing Industry Team at the Marine Healing Division of Wando County Office.
