[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Hanwha Group announced on the 5th that it will hold the classical concert 'Hanwha Classic 2022' at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall on December 3-4.
Marking its 10th anniversary, this year's invited artists are soprano Yulia Rezneva and the Venice Baroque Orchestra.
Yulia Rezneva majored in vocal music and piano at the Moscow Gretchaninov Music School and the Moscow Conservatory. She is the winner of the Elena Obraztsova International Competition, the youngest winner of the Miriam Helin Competition, and a recipient of the Russian Triumph Award. On this stage, she will sing soprano arias composed by the greatest opera composers of the time such as Handel, Vivaldi, Graun, and Porpora.
The Venice Baroque Orchestra is considered one of the finest existing Baroque ensembles. Founded in Italy, the birthplace of Baroque music, it represents Italian Baroque performance alongside Europa Galante, Il Giardino Armonico, and Concerto Italiano.
Concert tickets are priced the same as previous years: 50,000 KRW for R seats, 35,000 KRW for S seats, and 20,000 KRW for A seats, with sales starting at 2 PM on the 5th. On the day of the concert, a preview commentary by Professor Jung Kyung-young of Hanyang University, who provides clear explanations to aid understanding of the music, will be held.
Hanwha Classic began in 2013 with Helmut Rilling and the Bach Collegium Stuttgart, which showcased the harmony of early music and modern instruments, followed by Concerto Italiano (2014), the 18th Century Orchestra (2015), Musicians of the Louvre (2016) and Les Arts Florissants (2017), Andreas Scholl and The English Concert (2018), and Jordi Savall and Le Concert des Nations (2019).
A Hanwha Group official said, "It has been 10 years since we have consistently presented early music stages, a special area within classical music, by inviting the best musicians every year. The visit of Yulia Rezneva and the Venice Baroque Orchestra will be a precious stage like rain to early music fans."
