Kakao Enterprise and Gachon University Collaborate to Train AI and Big Data Specialists

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Kakao Enterprise is partnering with Gachon University to cultivate digital professionals based on artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technologies.

Kakao Enterprise and Gachon University announced on the 5th that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a 'Higher Education Innovation Platform' and will operate a 'Recruitment-Linked Software Academy' supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT's newly launched 'Campus Software Academy' project.

Kakao Enterprise will open a bootcamp-style Software Academy within Gachon University to nurture software talents who go beyond simple coding skills by receiving training focused on computer engineering theory and project-based learning.

Together with Gachon University, Kakao Enterprise will offer customized courses such as machine learning, computer vision, and web programming, and run intensive programs where students work in teams to carry out projects. Up to 150 students who complete the course will receive certificates and be offered recruitment-linked internships conducted within the Kakao community. Additionally, they plan to collaborate on developing AI and big data-based educational platforms and services, building and expanding the foundation for future talent education.

Baek Sang-yeop, CEO of Kakao Enterprise, said, “As a leading IT platform company in Korea, Kakao Enterprise joins Gachon University’s vision to become a ‘platform university for student success’ and aims to achieve various innovations within the university together. Through this agreement, we will continuously nurture capable AI talents with Gachon University.”
