[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Hannam University has been selected as the operating institution for the School Arts Instructor Support Project.
According to Hannam University on the 5th, the university was finally selected as the operating institution for school arts instructors in two regions: Daejeon and Sejong.
The project is jointly promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Education, 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, and local governments.
As a result of the project selection, Hannam University secured 6.4 billion KRW in national project funds and will carry out the related project for two years starting next year.
The core of the project is to connect the local arts community with public education by dispatching specialized cultural and arts instructors in eight fields to educational sites to support arts education within schools.
Previously, Hannam University launched the Arts and Culture Education Project Group within the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation in 2017. Since then, by promoting related projects, it has placed 280 specialized arts instructors in 310 elementary, middle, high, special, and various schools in the Daejeon and Sejong areas, contributing to the revitalization of cultural and arts education within schools.
Byun Sang-hyung, head of the Arts and Culture Education Project Group at Hannam University, said, “Based on the experience and achievements accumulated through years of project operation, we will focus on revitalizing cultural and arts education in local schools and fostering creative talents.”
