Sang-kyu Lee, President of LG Electronics, Awarded the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit

'17th Electronic IT Day' Commemoration Ceremony Held
Recognized for Premium Home Appliance Competitiveness

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] Lee Sang-gyu, President of LG Electronics Korea Sales Headquarters, received the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit.

LG Electronics announced that President Lee Sang-gyu was awarded the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit at the '17th Electronics IT Day' ceremony held on the 5th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. This award is a government honor given to those who have made outstanding contributions to national industrial development and is the highest grade of such awards.

President Lee significantly contributed to enhancing the competitiveness of Korea's home appliance industry by leading premium products such as the ultra-premium home appliance 'LG SIGNATURE' and the space interior home appliance 'LG Objet Collection.' He was also recognized for his contributions to national economic development through the creation of new jobs and maintaining stable employment, as well as for leading corporate social responsibility efforts. He has taken the lead in activities to strengthen corporate social responsibility through social contributions and promote win-win cooperation with partners such as dealerships.

Lee Sang-gyu joined GoldStar's Optical Equipment Sales Department in 1988 and has led LG Electronics' home appliance business based on extensive know-how gained through various roles in sales, strategy, distribution, and marketing. Since the end of 2019, he has been serving as the head of the Korea Sales Headquarters, building a sales foundation capable of leading the global home appliance market.

Lee Sang-gyu, head of the Korea Sales Headquarters, said, "It is an honor to receive the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit, the highest honor a businessperson can receive," and added, "I will continue to contribute tirelessly so that LG Electronics and Korea's home appliance industry can maintain sustainable growth through customer value innovation."
