[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Spinal implant company L&K Biomed announced on the 5th that its height-expandable lumbar cage 'PassLock-TM' has been registered as a health insurance reimbursement item by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.
Following the height-expandable lumbar cages 'ExcelFix-XL' and 'ExcelFix-XTP', L&K Biomed plans to intensively target the domestic TLIF market, a surgical method that inserts implants into the spinal joint area, with the additional registration of PassLock-TM.
PassLock-TM is a product developed by L&K Biomed by consolidating its technological capabilities and was approved by the US FDA in March this year. It is currently used in over 100 cases in the US and has received favorable reviews in overseas markets. The company has entered the Latin American market through dealership supply contracts in Brazil and Mexico.
PassLock-TM is a posterior and posterolateral insertion type product with a high frequency of procedures. It allows adjustment of the angle up to 20 degrees during spinal surgery, helping to perform optimized surgery tailored to the patient's condition.
Park Geun-joo, CEO of L&K Biomed, said, "Next month, we plan to hold a lunch seminar to promote the excellence of PassLock-TM by inviting neurosurgical spine specialists, orthopedic spine specialists, and university hospital professors from the US and Korea."
