[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The city of Incheon has set 120 campaign pledges for Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok and estimated that the necessary funds during his term will amount to 38 trillion won.
On the 4th, the city held a report meeting on the mayor's major campaign pledge implementation plans, attended by about 30 key executives including heads of departments and bureaus.
In addition to the election manifesto and pledges announced by Mayor Yoo during the June 1 local elections, the city will promote promises made to citizens through citizen proposals, transition committee recommendations, and Incheon city policy proposal projects, organized into 10 major policy areas and 120 pledges.
The 10 major policy areas to realize the three core values of the 8th elected term?balance, creativity, and communication?are ▲Future Creation ▲Transportation ▲Balanced Development ▲Economy ▲Agriculture and Fisheries ▲Culture and Arts ▲Environment, Green Spaces & Waterworks ▲Welfare ▲Education & Safety ▲Communication Administration.
Based on these 10 major policies, 120 pledges have been outlined.
The key pledges include ▲Construction of New Hongkong City ▲Promotion of Jemulpo Renaissance ▲Establishment of Hydrogen Production Infrastructure ▲Promotion of GTX-D Line and Y-shaped Line ▲Commencement of Bupyeong Station to Yeonan Port Tram ▲Airport Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO) and Airport Economic Zone Development in Yeongjong Area ▲Increase of Culture and Arts Budget to 3% ▲Citizen Safety System (Promotion of Community Integrated Care) ▲Construction of Cheongna Dome Stadium, among others.
To implement these pledges, the estimated required funds during Mayor Yoo’s term amount to 38.11 trillion won. Of this, 11.41 trillion won is expected from national funds, 13.09 trillion won from city funds, 2.07 trillion won from district and county funds, and 11.54 trillion won from private investment and other sources.
The city plans to finalize and announce the pledge implementation plan by the end of this year after collecting citizen opinions through the operation of a pledge implementation evaluation group.
At the report meeting, Mayor Yoo urged, "Please establish and promote a solid implementation plan so that all pledges promised to citizens can be fulfilled to realize the three core values of balance, creativity, and communication."
