Changwon Special City, Key Industries Development Discussed at the Professional Production Technology Research Institute Gathering Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the 'Key Business Report Meeting of the Specialized Production Technology Research Institute' to discuss the development of Changwon City's main industries.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] On the 4th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the ‘Major Business Report Meeting of Specialized Production Technology Research Institutes’ in the city hall policy meeting room, where specialized production technology research institutes in the jurisdiction gathered in one place to discuss the development of Changwon’s key industries since the launch of the 8th local government.


The major business report meeting was attended by about 10 people, including Koo Young-mo, Head of the Hydrogen Mobility Research Division at the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH), Seo Yong-seok, Director of the Regional Institute of Marine Science and Technology (RIMS), Shin Jin-guk, Head of the Southeast Regional Headquarters of the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), Kwon Ho, Head of the Yeongnam Headquarters of the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), and executives of specialized production technology research institutes in the jurisdiction.


At the meeting, executives from each related organization presented the current status of specialized production technology research institutes, industry trends, and next year’s major business reports, then shared and discussed key promotion projects and cooperation matters. The four specialized production technology research institutes in the jurisdiction agreed to continuously cooperate with Changwon City to operate collaborative projects by institution in a substantial manner.


Since 2023 is an important year for realizing the vision of the 8th local government, the city plans to focus administrative power to closely review detailed cooperation plans with specialized production technology research institutes through this report meeting and prepare concrete implementation plans.


Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “We will do our best to restore vitality to the local economy through cooperation with research institutions and to create a city that attracts cutting-edge technology by restructuring the industrial structure centered on science and technology,” adding, “We hope that the specialized production technology research institutes will also do their best for the economic development of the Changwon region.”
