Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun Participates in 'Online Campaign to Eradicate Child Violence' on the 4th


[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-jun, mayor of Suwon City, participated in the 'Online Campaign to Eradicate Child Violence' and emphasized, "Child-friendly city Suwon will take the lead in eradicating child violence."


Mayor Lee participated in the campaign on the 4th at his office, having been nominated by Lee Sang-il, mayor of Yongin City.


The online campaign to eradicate child violence is conducted by taking a photo holding a hand sign with the hashtag '#END Violence' and the campaign logo, then posting the photo and message on personal SNS.


Mayor Lee said, "Children, who are our future, must be protected from all forms of violence including physical violence, neglect, and exploitation," and promised, "We will create an environment where everyone protects children together."


He nominated Lee Kang-deok, mayor of Pohang City, and Park Seung-won, mayor of Gwangmyeong City, as the next participants in the campaign.


The campaign to eradicate child violence, jointly hosted by the UNICEF Korea Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is a global awareness campaign conducted by UNICEF to eliminate all violence against children and adolescents.
