Opening Export Opportunities for Domestic Companies Through Overseas Buyer Visit Consultation After 3 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KOTRA announced on the 4th that the '2022 International Mobility Industry Exhibition,' co-hosted with Ain Global Foundation (Korea Automotive Industry Globalization Foundation) and sponsored by Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and Goyang Convention & Visitors Bureau (Goyang CVB), will be held for three days until the 7th of this month at Ilsan KINTEX Seoul.
This project is being promoted as part of KOTRA's 'Export Plus' project for the second half of 2022 to fully respond to the trade deficit crisis.
The 'International Mobility Industry Exhibition,' a specialized exhibition for the automotive and mobility industries, has led the direction of the domestic automotive industry for 19 years. This year's exhibition, with a total of 150 companies participating, including 140 domestic and 10 overseas companies, features joint pavilions from Daegu Metropolitan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Hwaseong City, Ulsan Industrial Complex Corporation, the Korea-ASEAN Center, and the Korea Smart e-Mobility Association.
Domestic companies will conduct about 350 export consultations starting with a preliminary consultation meeting in July, involving 69 visiting buyers from 19 countries invited by KOTRA and 86 online participating buyers from 26 countries. In particular, overseas buyers who had not been able to attend since 2019 due to COVID-19 will visit Korea in large numbers for the first time in three years, providing an active exchange opportunity with domestic automotive and mobility companies.
To support domestic companies' advancement into the future mobility industry and the transition of internal combustion engine parts companies, forums will be held on the themes of ▲ Global Automotive Parts Transition Response ▲ The Future of the Global Mobility and Autonomous Driving Industry.
Jung Wiyoung, Head of KOTRA's Innovation Growth Division, said, "Global automotive parts companies are accelerating their transition to future vehicles and mobility parts," adding, "We will actively create overseas expansion opportunities for domestic automotive parts companies in line with these changes."
