The Goseong-gun Community Security Council in Gyeongnam held the 13th Social Welfare Day ceremony and the 2022 Welfare Expo.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] The Goseong-gun Community Social Security Council in Gyeongnam held the 13th Social Welfare Day Commemoration Ceremony and the 2022 Welfare Expo on the 1st at Sports Park Field 3 of Goseong Sports Complex under the theme "Let's Go Together for the Next 100 Years, Warm Companionship, Happy Goseong."
The expo, which had been suspended since 2019 due to COVID-19, was reopened this year and was attended by up to 1,500 visitors.
At the ceremony, 16 social welfare contributors who silently volunteered and dedicated themselves to helping those in need in the community were awarded commendations and plaques of appreciation.
Following the ceremony, the 2022 Welfare Expo featured 47 diverse booths operated by 34 welfare-related organizations and facilities, offering welfare experiences such as health consultations and fire safety experiences, as well as bazaars for welfare products and local specialties, receiving great responses from the residents.
Chairperson Park Young-sook said, "This Social Welfare Day Commemoration Ceremony and Welfare Expo were held to share the value of sharing welfare with the residents and to boost the morale of social welfare workers. I am grateful to everyone who attended the expo."
Governor Lee Sang-geun, in his commemorative speech, stated, "I express my respect and gratitude to everyone on the ground who has cared for the socially vulnerable in the community and served as a strong support. As the slogan says, 'Let's Go Together for the Next 100 Years, Warm Companionship, Happy Goseong,' I hope this expo becomes a warm companionship for all residents."
