Selection of Winners for the 24th Miryang City Citizen Awards to be Presented on Citizen's Day, the 16th

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Miryang City, Gyeongnam, announced the recipients of the '24th Miryang Citizen Award,' given to citizens who have made remarkable contributions to the welfare of citizens and the development of the local community, on the 1st of this month.

The Citizen Award Selection Committee confirmed the winners in four categories: culture, sports, industry, and volunteer work. In the culture category, Yoon Jeong-il, president of the Miryang Arirang Preservation Society, was selected; in sports, Son Seung-mo, coach of the Miryang City Badminton Team; in industry, CEO Lee Hong-won; and in volunteer work, CEO Park Hyun-soo.

Mayor Park Il-ho said, "This year's Citizen Award recipients are distinguished individuals who are widely recognized and respected by all citizens, serving as great role models in the local community. On behalf of the 110,000 citizens of Miryang, we will honor their achievements, recognizing those who have lived diligently with diverse and inspiring stories in their respective fields."

The award ceremony for the Citizen Award recipients is scheduled to be held on the 16th during the '27th Miryang Citizens' Day Commemoration Event,' linked with the 2022 Korea Culture Month festivities.
