Wave Opens Dedicated Program Section on KakaoTV... Strengthening Partnership

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Online video service Wavve announced on the 4th that it is strengthening its partnership with Kakao Entertainment through a new content supply contract. On the same day, Wavve released about 26 popular original contents from KakaoTV.

The works initially provided through the Wavve KakaoTV exclusive program section include 8 dramas and 18 variety shows. In addition to dramas such as "Myeoneuragi," "Love Revolution," and "Still Not Thirty," which were released on Wavve in 2020, variety contents that were hits on KakaoTV such as "Play You," "Ants Are Still Busy Today," "Shall We Talk?," and "Jjin Kyung-gyu" are also included in this lineup. "Play You," which was introduced on KakaoTV last April, is a new concept interactive variety show where South Korea's representative MC Yoo Jae-suk communicates with viewers through real-time live broadcasts, attracting attention by surpassing 17 million cumulative views.

In addition, Wavve plans to cooperate in various ways, including launching a separate live channel where KakaoTV content can be viewed.
