First Fruit of Yangsa Strategic Partnership Agreement
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] SC First Bank and Hyundai Card announced on the 4th the launch of 15 types of 'SC First Bank-Hyundai Card'. This co-branded card launch is the first result of the strategic partnership agreement signed by the two companies last April.
The newly introduced SC First Bank-Hyundai Card combines Hyundai Card's benefits with SC First Bank's unique financial perks, consisting of a total of 15 types. On this day, 10 personal co-branded cards were unveiled, including 5 personal credit cards, 2 personal check cards, and 3 personal business cards, while 5 corporate cards are scheduled to be introduced additionally on the 27th.
The flagship product is the 'SC First Bank-The Red Edition5' card for premium customers, which features not only Hyundai Card's premium benefits but also offers SC First Bank's Private Banking (PB) services for one year as a launch commemoration.
Hyundai Card benefits include ▲1-2% M Points accumulation on spending ▲2.0% M Points accumulation when purchasing Hyundai or Kia vehicles ▲60 M Points per liter at GS Caltex, while SC First Bank benefits include ▲90% preferential exchange rate on foreign currency cash exchange ▲special preferential interest rates on SC First Bank loans. Additionally, vouchers covering travel, hotel, hospital, and golf sectors are provided along with a metal plate card worth approximately 100,000 KRW.
The SC First Bank-M BOOST card boasts a high point accumulation rate. Basic benefits include ▲0.5-3% M Points accumulation by sector ▲1.5% M Points accumulation on Hyundai and Kia vehicle purchases ▲60 M Points per liter at GS Caltex. If the monthly spending exceeds 1 million KRW, points accumulate at 1.5 times, up to a maximum of 4.5% M Points, plus a bonus of 10,000 M Points. Furthermore, up to 5% points can be earned on online simple payments or overseas merchants, and a cashback benefit of 30,000 KRW is also provided based on card usage.
In line with the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and the reopening and anticipation of overseas travel, the SC First Bank-Korean Air Card030 was also unveiled, offering up to 8,000 Korean Air miles as a special benefit. Basic accumulation is 1 mile per 1,000 KRW spent, and 2 miles per 1,000 KRW when used at duty-free shops or overseas. Customers applying for this card receive a welcome bonus of 3,000 miles, a bonus of 5,000 miles based on usage, and a cashback benefit of 30,000 KRW.
Additionally, M (point type) and X (cashback type) check cards were introduced, offering benefits without monthly usage conditions or accumulation limits. The M check card accumulates up to 1.0% points on spending, and the X check card offers up to 0.6% cashback. These check cards can be issued under the Visa brand without an annual fee, and customers can choose popular Marvel characters and Disney designs, such as Spider-Man and Mickey Mouse, in collaboration with SC First Bank and Disney.
SC First Bank and Hyundai Card also introduced a hybrid service that cross-provides benefits based on card usage or bank product subscription performance. If a customer issues a co-branded Hyundai Card and subscribes to the mobile non-face-to-face fixed deposit 'E-Green Save Deposit' (limited to deposits under 30 million KRW, lump-sum payment at maturity) with a 12-month maturity interest rate of 4.1% (annual, pre-tax) as of this day, the post-tax interest at maturity can be converted and received at a rate of 1.5 M Points per 1 KRW. Moreover, customers who newly apply for SC First Bank loan products and issue a co-branded Hyundai Card with SC First Bank as the payment account, using at least 300,000 KRW monthly (combined credit and check cards), can receive additional preferential interest rates on both unsecured and secured loans.
