Selecting Medium-Sized Chamgul Perfect for One Bite
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS The Fresh announced on the 4th that it will start selling freshly harvested raw oysters for sashimi from the 5th of this month.
Raw oysters are typically in season from October to March, with their flesh becoming plump and sweetness deepening after the spawning season in autumn. The oysters introduced by GS The Fresh this time are Chamgul oysters, selected in a medium size that is perfect for one bite.
GS The Fresh is making special efforts in safety inspections to offer customers the freshest seasonal oysters as quickly as possible. The Freshness and Hygiene Innovation Team conducts inspections once a month, GS Retail designated oyster processing farms twice a month, and the Tongyeong Oyster Cooperative once a month, totaling four inspections per month.
To commemorate the first shipment, GS The Fresh will offer a 20% discount on one bag of oysters to membership customers until the 11th. Additionally, during the kimchi-making season at the end of this month, they plan to prepare a sufficient quantity of small oysters, which are commonly used for kimchi, to meet customer demand without disruption.
A GS Retail official said, “Bagged oysters are popular products that compete for first and second place in winter seafood sales every year, and sales increased by more than 20% compared to the previous year. We will continuously monitor freshness so that customers can safely enjoy the best winter health food, called the milk of the sea and ginseng, as soon as possible.”
