[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Shin Jungang Market Merchants Association in Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) announced that it will hold the ‘Jungang Market Moonlight Food Festival’ from 6 PM to 10 PM on the 7th and 8th.
During the event, customers who visit Shin Jungang Market will receive Onnuri gift certificates based on their purchase amount through a receipt payback event. Customers who spend between 20,000 KRW and less than 50,000 KRW will receive a 5,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificate, those who spend between 50,000 KRW and less than 100,000 KRW will receive a 10,000 KRW certificate, and customers who spend 100,000 KRW or more will receive a 20,000 KRW certificate. Customers need to bring their purchase receipts and visit the event booth inside Jungang Market.
Participants can also join mini-games such as ‘Spin the Roulette’ and ‘Random Draw.’ Customers who bring receipts of purchases over 20,000 KRW on the day can win various prizes through these mini-games, so it’s worth trying your luck.
The Onnuri gift certificates and prizes will be given only to customers who use stores registered with the Shin Jungang Market Merchants Association during the event period, and the event may end early once the prepared quantities are exhausted.
No festival is complete without performances. At the Moonlight Stage in front of the Eoul Shelter inside Jungang Market, a variety of musical performances will be held. Winners of the immortal song contest Hun Jae-i, Voice Queen Lee Su-jin, and Mistrot Han Dam-hee will perform, enhancing the night market atmosphere.
Shin Jungang Market has recently become a ‘hot place’ among the younger generation, gaining popularity on social media (SNS) following visits by famous celebrities. During the festival, visitors can enjoy the performances at the Moonlight Stage and food at the ‘Food Zone’ inside the Jungang Market arcade.

Kim Gil-seong, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, “Autumn festivals continue at traditional markets in Jung-gu. Following the events at Hwanghak-dong Kitchen Furniture Street and Baekhak Market Festival held in September, the Yaksu Market Lunchbox Festival is scheduled for October 15.” He added, “We hope everyone will fully enjoy the charm of traditional markets through this opportunity.”
