[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 3rd that it held the ‘Education Welfare Priority Support Project Stakeholders Workshop’ at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Yeosu, with about 100 participants including education welfare officers and project coordinators.

The ‘Education Welfare Priority Support Project’ is a program aimed at eliminating educational disparities and realizing equal educational opportunities through various programs such as education, culture, and welfare by linking schools and local communities for vulnerable students.

The Office of Education started the project in 2006 and currently designates 86 schools as project schools.

At the workshop, Kim Seung-su, director of the Ddokddok Library, was invited to conduct an education welfare talk concert under the theme of “Stories of Relationships Connected by the Heart,” and a recharging session using food therapy was held to prevent emotional energy exhaustion of the project staff.

In addition, a discussion session was arranged to share the progress and future plans related to the designation of new project schools and to seek ways to develop the project.

Kim Jae-gi, Director of the Safety and Welfare Division, said, “The success of the Education Welfare Priority Support Project depends on the education welfare officers,” and added, “We appreciate your hard work running tirelessly for vulnerable students in the field, and let us work together to further solidify the project so that it can lead to the healthy growth and development of students.”
