‘Hulk’ DeChambeau’s “406-yard Power”… Runner-up in Long Drive Competition

[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] 'Hulk' Bryson DeChambeau (USA, photo) demonstrated his extraordinary power.

On the 2nd (local time), DeChambeau hit 406 yards in the final of the Professional Long Drive World Championship (PLDA World Championship) held in Mosquito, Arizona, USA, securing second place. Martin Borgmaier (Germany) soared 426 yards to claim the top spot. The Professional Long Drive World Championship is a competition specialized in long drives. Only players specialized in long drives participate to compete for the championship.

After joining the PGA Tour, DeChambeau transformed into a powerful long hitter by significantly increasing his body mass and swing speed. In 2021, he became the long drive champion with an average drive distance of 323.7 yards. After moving to LIV Golf, he disappeared from the PGA Tour but participated in the Professional Long Drive World Championship for the second consecutive year following last year. Last year, he was satisfied with reaching the quarterfinals.
