The number of new COVID-19 cases was recorded at 12,150. The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on the 3rd, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases increased by 12,150 to a total of 24,831,761. The number of new cases decreased by 11,447 compared to the previous day.

Among the new cases, 132 were imported cases, down by 114 from the previous day. This is attributed to the lifting of mandatory COVID-19 testing before and after entry for overseas arrivals starting from the 1st. Domestic community transmission cases numbered 12,018.

The number of cases by region, including imported cases, are as follows: Gyeonggi 3,781, Seoul 2,025, Incheon 785, Daegu 772, Gyeongbuk 721, Gyeongnam 692, Chungnam 468, Gangwon 456, Busan 431, Chungbuk 383, Daejeon 337, Jeonbuk 286, Jeonnam 277, Gwangju 250, Ulsan 189, Jeju 142, Sejong 111, and quarantine 44.

As of midnight, the number of critically ill patients in care was 361, an increase of 8 from the previous day. The number of COVID-19 deaths reported the previous day was 20, a decrease of 24 compared to the day before.

The occupancy rate of critical care beds as of midnight was 20.4%, and the number of confirmed cases under home treatment was 164,953.
