[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] LG Electronics announced on the 3rd that it will launch a premium robot vacuum cleaner new product, 'CodeZero Objet Collection R9,' combined with an all-in-one tower, a versatile stand that automatically empties the dustbin, later this month. Ahead of the launch, the new product will be unveiled at the 53rd Korea Electronics Show held at COEX, Samseong-dong, Seoul, for four days starting the next day.
The all-in-one tower exclusive to CodeZero R9 is a new concept charging stand that automatically empties the robot vacuum cleaner's dustbin and suppresses bacterial growth on the surface of the dust bag accumulated with dust using UVC LED (ultraviolet light-emitting diode). When the LG CodeZero Objet Collection R9 finishes cleaning and returns to the all-in-one tower, it automatically empties the dustbin without the customer having to separately remove it. The UVC LED function of the all-in-one tower operates automatically when the robot vacuum cleaner starts charging. The all-in-one tower was previously applied to another premium cordless vacuum cleaner, the A9S, and gained popularity.
The new product is part of the LG UP Appliance lineup, which allows users to upgrade new features through the LG ThinQ application’s 'UP Appliance Center' after purchase. LG Electronics plans to support adding features that can be upgraded to the existing CodeZero Objet Collection R9 among the new functions to be added in the future.
The differentiated performance and convenience of the existing CodeZero Objet Collection R9 have been inherited as they are. The LG CodeZero Objet Collection R9 recognizes indoor spaces and obstacles more accurately with AI deep learning technology trained on about 3 million object images. By connecting with Naver’s AI platform Clova through the LG ThinQ app, the robot vacuum cleaner can also be controlled by voice.
In the LG ThinQ app, users can link the robot vacuum cleaner CodeZero Objet Collection R9 and the mop-dedicated robot vacuum cleaner CodeZero Objet Collection M9 to utilize the smart pairing function. After the CodeZero Objet Collection R9 finishes vacuuming, the CodeZero Objet Collection M9 automatically performs mop cleaning.
The new product equipped with the all-in-one tower is priced at 1,590,000 KRW for Objet Collection colors such as Calming Beige and Calming Green, and 1,490,000 KRW for the Iron Gray color, based on the shipment price.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics plans to additionally launch the entry-level robot vacuum cleaner CodeZero R5 this month. It is described as a convenient product that can perform suction and simple mop cleaning simultaneously. The price is expected to be set between 690,000 and 890,000 KRW depending on the presence of the all-in-one tower.
Baek Seung-tae, Vice President and Head of the Living Appliance Business Division at LG Electronics H&A (Home Appliance & Air Solution) Business Headquarters, said, "With excellent suction power and performance leading the market, the new LG robot vacuum cleaner equipped with the convenience of the all-in-one tower will provide customers with a different level of experience."
