[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] LG Uplus announced on the 2nd that it has partnered with AI solution company Apptest.ai to enhance customer-perceived quality of its Internet of Things (IoT) and IPTV services.
The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 30th of last month at the LG Uplus headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to develop AI-based service testing technology and explore business opportunities.
Through this MOU, LG Uplus and Apptest.ai will jointly work on ▲ expanding the application of automated testing solutions to services such as IoT and IPTV ▲ advancing automated testing solutions for mobile apps and web ▲ commercializing automated testing solutions and pursuing overseas expansion.
They will develop an AI-based automated solution for regular quality testing to improve service quality for mobile apps and web. They agreed to build and enhance an environment where AI tests services 24 hours a day without employees having to conduct the tests themselves.
The two companies plan to expand the automated testing solutions currently applied to some app and web services to various LG Uplus services such as IoT and IPTV. To improve testing quality, they will incorporate service usage patterns and networks that customers use in their daily lives.
Additionally, they plan to introduce the solution to domestic and international service companies and collaborate on commercializing the automated testing solution, including exploring overseas markets. As a first step, they will participate in the global testing conference "STARWEST" held in the United States this month, presenting actual use cases and communicating with overseas operators through booth exhibitions.
Hwang Jae-jun, CEO of Apptest.ai, said, “Through the MOU with LG Uplus, the automation system technology and service testing capabilities of both companies will be advanced, and we expect to accelerate the activation of AI-based service QA test automation.”
Kang Bong-soo, Head of Quality Innovation Center at LG Uplus, stated, “This collaboration will spread service quality test automation technology to various fields, enabling us to provide the best service quality to customers. Through continuous cooperation, we will improve service quality for IoT, IPTV, and other services and secure new business opportunities through solution commercialization.”
