[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] On Sunday the 2nd, the nation will be mostly cloudy with rain expected in various areas starting from the Seoul metropolitan area.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the expected rainfall for the day is 10-40mm in the Seoul metropolitan area and northern Chungnam West Coast, 20-60mm along the West Coast, and 10-60mm in Gangwon Yeongseo, southern Chungnam West Coast, and northern inland Chungcheong.
Raindrops falling across the country from the morning will gradually intensify, with rain starting in the afternoon in the Seoul metropolitan area and Chungnam, and becoming more widespread from night in Gangwon, Chungbuk, and northern Gyeongbuk. On the 3rd, rain is expected to expand to Jeonbuk and Gyeongbuk as well. In Incheon and the western coast of Gyeonggi, strong winds and lightning accompanied by rain may bring over 100mm of rainfall in some areas from night.
Air quality in the Seoul metropolitan area and Chungnam will be poor until the morning, but as rain begins in earnest in the afternoon, fine dust levels may decrease. The rain will gradually stop by the morning of the 4th, followed by cooler weather.
The morning low temperatures will range from 13 to 20 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs will be between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius. Morning lows by region are Seoul 18°C, Chuncheon 15°C, Gangneung 18°C, Daejeon 17°C, Cheongju 17°C, Daegu 16°C, Gwangju 18°C, Jeonju 17°C, Busan 20°C, and Jeju 21°C.
In the central offshore area of the West Sea, strong winds will blow from the afternoon with waves expected to be very high at 1.5 to 3.5 meters. Wave heights will be 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the East Sea and South Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea coastal waters.
