[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A person affiliated with the citizen media outlet The Tamza (formerly Open Sympathy TV) has been booked by the police on suspicion of repeatedly following Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon on his way home from work.

On the 30th, according to a comprehensive report by Asia Economy, the Seoul Suseo Police Station is investigating a man in his 30s, identified as A, affiliated with The Tamza, on charges of violating the Stalking Punishment Act. The police began the investigation after receiving a complaint from the Ministry of Justice on the 28th.

The police identified and started questioning A and others on suspicion of tracking Minister Han’s commute home by car three times over the past month and lingering near the entrance of his apartment. It is known that since the end of last month, A and others repeatedly followed Minister Han by vehicle from locations such as Yeouido National Assembly and the Constitutional Court, where his last schedule of the day ended.

Meanwhile, the current Stalking Punishment Act stipulates that anyone who, without justifiable reason and against the other party’s will, approaches or follows the other party causing anxiety or fear, shall be punished by imprisonment of up to three years or a fine of up to 30 million won.

The police stated, "We have notified the suspect of a ban on approaching within 100 meters, which is an emergency protective measure, and have also implemented safety measures for the crime victim."
