The Firefighting Skills Competition is an event where firefighters representing the nation showcase the skills they have honed to improve disaster response techniques and physical fitness for better on-site response capabilities, as well as to promote information exchange and friendship among cities and provinces.
This year's competition was held for three days from the 27th to the 29th at the Gongju Central Fire Academy (Fire, Rescue, First Aid, Strongest, Investigation), hosted by the National Fire Agency.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters fielded 20 representative athletes in 8 events across 5 categories?fire suppression, rescue tactics, first aid tactics, strongest firefighter, and fire investigation?selected through an internal competition held in June, achieving excellent results.
For this competition, they underwent systematic and intensive training over the past four months and improved their skills through internal contests.
Additionally, in the newly introduced demonstration event this year in the field of life safety, they received the National Fire Agency Commissioner’s Award.
