Changwon Special City Awards Commendations to Social Welfare Contributors

Gyeongnam Changwon Special City announced that it held the '2022 Changwon Welfare Ddeulsseok Ddeulsseok Talk' organized by the Changwon City Social Welfare Council.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 30th at 3 p.m. that it held the ‘2022 Changwon Welfare Ddeulsseok Ddeulsseok Talk’ hosted by the Changwon City Social Welfare Council at the Citizen Hall.

The event was organized to communicate with social welfare officials who have quietly and faithfully played their roles for the underprivileged at the forefront of welfare and to explore the functions and roles of the Social Welfare Council. About 100 people attended, including Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Moon Soon-gyu, Vice Chairman of the City Council, city council members belonging to the Economic Welfare Committee, and heads of welfare-related organizations.

The event proceeded in the order of a special lecture on happy communication methods that move the hearts of others, commendations for social welfare meritorious persons, and a win-win cooperation delivery ceremony for the promotion of social welfare.

As a result of contributing to the development of social welfare and the cultivation of social welfare awareness among local residents, 12 people were honored as social welfare meritorious persons, including Jo Jeong-hye, director of Rodem’s House, who received the Baegun Social Welfare Grand Prize.

Jang Su-yong, chairman of the Changwon City Social Welfare Council, said, “The Social Welfare Council will take the lead in playing the role of a hub for the development of local welfare,” and added, “We ask for your continued interest and participation.”

Mayor Hong said, “Amid various social problems deepening due to aging and COVID-19, I thank all the members of the Social Welfare Council who dedicate themselves to the underprivileged neighbors,” and added, “We will provide thorough and solid support to the socially vulnerable to create a happy city of Changwon for all.”

He continued, “We also ask for much cooperation and participation in creating a welfare ecosystem where the difficulties faced by citizens are not the burden of individuals but are embraced together by our community.”
