[Asia Economy Reporter Noh Kyung-jo] HanmiGlobal and Warm Companion announced on the 30th that they have completed improvement work at the 'Giheung Vocational Support Center,' a vocational rehabilitation facility for the disabled in Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province, and held a commemorative ceremony.

HanmiGlobal and Warm Companion have been supporting space welfare projects for facilities for the disabled for 13 years since 2010. The Giheung Vocational Support Center supports independent living and social participation for people with severe developmental disabilities and was selected as the 600th site of this project. Previously, the center received automatic production machines through the government's social welfare facility function reinforcement project, but faced difficulties in securing space and funding for installation.

The space welfare support project expanded overseas in 2017 to assist families of disabled people in Vietnam and families from Ethiopia and Turkey who participated in the Korean War. So far, 600 projects have been carried out domestically and 55 projects overseas.

At the commemorative ceremony, Yang Ok-kyung, director of Warm Companion, said, "The space welfare support project, which initially focused on renovating small-scale facilities for the disabled, is now very proud to support jobs for the practical independence of disabled people," adding, "We will do our best to continue the project to provide real help to disabled people."
