Apply On-Site on Every Saturday and Sunday Throughout October
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulsan Museum will operate the experience program "Celadon Pillow Responsible for Sweet Sleep in the Goryeo Dynasty" every Saturday and Sunday (except Hangul Day) for one month from October 1 to 30.
This experience program, prepared in connection with the special exhibition "Secrets of the Goryeo Sea - Traces of Maritime Exchange 800 Years Ago," will be held three times a day for one hour each at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
The main content is an experience of coloring paper balloons shaped like celadon pillows excavated from the Yeonjado site in Ulju.
Celadon pillows were used for naps or summer pillows and are known as high-quality items made to order, as there are almost no identical shapes or forms.
Celadon pillows were also excavated from the Sinan shipwreck, and in this special exhibition at Ulsan Museum, visitors can view celadon pillows from the Yeonjado site in Ulju and from the Myeongnyang sea area in Jindo.
During operating hours, visitors can receive celadon pillow teaching materials distributed at the entrance of the special exhibition hall on the first floor of Ulsan Museum and freely experience the program in the experience space or take it home to try.
For more details, please refer to the Ulsan Museum website or contact the Ulsan Museum.
A museum official said, "This experience education features the celadon pillow among many Goryeo celadon pieces exhibited in the special exhibition 'Secrets of the Goryeo Sea - Traces of Maritime Exchange 800 Years Ago.'" He added, "Since many unique artifacts are exhibited, we hope this will be an opportunity to listen to the stories contained in the artifacts and to expand new experiences and perspectives."
To celebrate the fruitful season of October, Ulsan Museum operates various programs including special exhibition-related events, Ulsan Museum University (22nd term), open history and culture lectures, traditional culture experience classes (21st term), field trips, conversations with curators, and Happy Saturday for Our Family.
