[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SPC Group announced on the 30th that it conducted volunteer activities at childcare centers for children without guardians.
This volunteer activity was carried out as part of the ‘SPC Happy Share Campaign,’ which supports vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots. The ‘SPC Happy Share Campaign’ is a customer participation social contribution program where customers can participate by leaving supportive comments or sharing stories introduced on the Happy Point application (Happy App), and SPC Group donates a certain amount on their behalf by accumulating funds.
The fundraising for this campaign, which ran for two months starting in May, reached the target amount of 20 million KRW with the participation of about 10,000 customers. The donations will be used as childcare support funds for children without guardians through the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. In particular, SPC Group employees visited childcare facilities in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and added meaning to the campaign by conducting various volunteer activities for the children at the centers, such as tutoring, environmental cleanup, and snack sharing.
An SPC Group official said, “We hope that this volunteer activity, in which employees directly participated, will be a small help and a memorable experience for children who need warm care,” and added, “SPC Group will continue to take the lead in spreading a culture of sharing and actively participate in practicing social values by embracing neighbors and society through various social contribution activities.”
Since 2017, SPC Group has supported a total of 136 children, including low-income single-parent families and children in vulnerable housing situations, with about 170 million KRW through the ‘SPC Happy Share Campaign,’ receiving support from over 85,000 customers.
