Ulsan City Architecture Award, Ulju Seosaeng 'Two Triangle' Selected as Grand Prize Winner

Winners Confirmed for 6 Buildings in 3 Categories: Residential, Public, and General

Ulsan City Architecture Award, Ulju Seosaeng 'Two Triangle' Selected as Grand Prize Winner Located in Ulju-gun, 'Two Triangle' was awarded the 'Grand Prize' for its creative design inspired by the triangle motif and for actively embracing the surrounding natural environment to maximize views and lighting effects.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Six buildings, including 'Two Triangle (Grand Prize),' were selected as winners of the 'Ulsan City Architecture Awards 2022,' held to promote architectural culture development and enhance urban dignity.


Ulsan City confirmed the winners after the '2022 Ulsan City Architecture Awards Jury,' composed of 12 members including general citizens and architecture experts, reviewed 57 entries across three categories: residential, public, and general.


According to the judging results, 'Two Triangle,' located in Sinam-ri, Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju-gun, was chosen as the 'Grand Prize' winner for its creative concept inspired by a triangle motif and its active incorporation of the external natural environment, maximizing views and lighting effects.

The Excellence Awards were selected in three categories.


The Excellence Award in the residential category went to 'Sai House' located in Yaksadong, Jung-gu, praised for fully reflecting the owner's requirements, focusing on interior spatial composition, and creating a space of light using natural sunlight.


The Excellence Award in the public category was awarded to the 'Ulsan Museum of Art' in Bukjeong-dong, Jung-gu, recognized for its expected role as a public facility with a location and function that stand out, as well as its historical and cultural depth.


The Excellence Award in the general category was given to the K.Factory office in Yeocheon-dong, Nam-gu, noted for its meticulous structural planning, functional spatial design, and clean finishing plan, embodying modernism.


Additionally, the house 'Jinhwasanbang' in Dudong-myeon, Ulju-gun, and the children's playground 'Keunnamu Nori Teo' operated by the Ulsan Early Childhood Education Promotion Institute in Sangbuk-myeon were selected as Merit Award winners.


For the awarded buildings, plaques will be attached, and trophies will be presented to the owners and designers.


Furthermore, to allow public viewing, models of the winning works will be exhibited at the Taehwagang Multipurpose Plaza during the 6th Ulsan Architecture Culture Festival from October 27 to October 30.


A city official stated, "We ask for the public's active viewing and interest in the excellent buildings," adding, "We will continue to strive to realize the public value of architecture and create beautiful urban landscapes through architecture."
