Until You Understand the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act... We Explain Cheongbu Gitok!
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Gyeongbuk Office of Education will provide the “Cheongbugitok Chatbot Service” on October 4th, which resolves real-time questions from the education family and residents about the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act.
Cheongbugitok can be easily used not only by public officials affiliated with the Gyeongbuk Office of Education but also by any residents by searching for “Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education Auditor” on KakaoTalk and adding it as a friend.
“Cheongbugi” is a character named by combining the first and last syllables of “Cheongnyeom Gyeongbuk” (Clean Gyeongbuk) into “Cheongbugi,” which was selected as the grand prize winner in last year’s integrity character contest.
The first service provided by the Cheongbugitok chatbot concerns the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, which has been in effect since May 19th this year. It includes the five reporting and submission obligations, five restrictions and prohibitions, unfamiliar terms, and penalties and fines imposed for violations of the law. Users can receive answers to their questions anytime and anywhere through real-time conversations with the Cheongbugitok chatbot.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education produced five “Promoting Integrity” videos to facilitate the early establishment and smooth operation of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, which were posted on the official YouTube channel of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, “Matkulmeokkul.”
Superintendent Im Jong-sik said, “Since violations of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act can subject not only public officials but also residents to penalties (imprisonment or fines), we have provided this chatbot service to prevent unfortunate situations where people violate the law due to lack of knowledge about the regulations.”
