[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) is set to actively promote the Gyeonggi Garden Creation Project.
On the 30th, GH announced that it signed an agency contract with Gyeonggi Province for the 'Gyeonggi Garden Creation Project.' According to the contract, GH will create a 38,000㎡ garden on the Convergence Site 5 within Gwanggyo New Town in Suwon, where the new Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office building is located.
The Gyeonggi Garden Creation Project aims to establish a space harmonized with nature within the Gyeonggi Convergence Town, which is densely packed with office facilities, to protect the natural scenery in the urban area and provide resting spaces for citizens.
The Gyeonggi Garden will be divided into three main areas (Convergence Sites 5-1, 5-2, and 5-3): ▲ Convergence Site 5-1 will serve as a resting area ▲ Convergence Site 5-2 will feature a large lawn plaza ▲ Convergence Site 5-3 will embody the identity of Gyeonggi Garden through landscape planting and sculptures.
GH plans to begin construction of the Gyeonggi Garden in the second half of 2023 and open it in the second half of 2024.
A GH official stated, "The Gyeonggi Garden will be a space that harmonizes with nature within the city, expected to satisfy the thirst for a nature-friendly environment and space among workers and nearby residents."
