[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Card announced on the 27th that its Our Tools received the main prize at the global design award 'IDEA (International Design Excellence Award) 2022.' Our Tools are everyday tools created by Hyundai Card in February by applying the credit card plate's horizontal-to-vertical ratio of 1 to 1.58, consisting of 15 items such as scissors, staplers, and wireless power banks, organized into 4 packages.
Our Tools won the main prize in the 'Lifestyle & Accessories' category at this year's IDEA. Hyundai Card explained that Our Tools received high praise for reinterpreting the standardized stationery forms using the credit card's proportions, achieving both aesthetic appeal and functional excellence.
Our Tools is the fourth product released by Hyundai Card utilizing the card plate ratio, following Hyundai Card Chocolate (2009), Hyundai Card T (2011), and Our Water (2019). A Hyundai Card official stated, "Through Our Tools, which extends the core brand identity of Hyundai Card's credit card proportions into everyday life, not only card users but various customers can experience Hyundai Card's design," adding, "We plan to continuously introduce various designs applying the credit card ratio in the future."
Meanwhile, the 42nd IDEA this year is a design award hosted by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and is considered one of the three major design awards alongside Germany's 'iF Design Award' and 'Red Dot Design Award.'
