Kia Hosts 'EV6 GT Straight-Line Instinct Racing Tournament'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Kia announced on the 30th that it will hold the country's first motion simulator drag racing game tournament, the ‘EV6 GT Straight-Line Instinct Racing Tournament,’ to celebrate the launch of the high-performance electric vehicle EV6 GT.

The event will take place over two days, from the 14th to the 15th of next month, at the electric vehicle specialized complex cultural space ‘EV6 Unplugged Ground Seongsu,’ and will be conducted in a total of four rounds.

The competition will be held in a virtual space using motion simulators and VR devices. A total of 128 invited customers will be divided into pairs, forming groups of two, and will compete in a tournament format starting from the round of 32 in each round.

In drag racing, a race on a straight track, the winner is the person who crosses the finish line first. Although fine acceleration pedal adjustments are required, advanced racing skills are not necessary, allowing even beginner drivers to participate fully.

The winner will receive the latest tablet PC and a 3-night, 4-day EV6 GT test drive voucher, while the runner-up will be awarded the latest smart watch.

All tournament participants will be given commemorative sweatshirts and windbreakers in collaboration with Yonex.

The venue will offer various attractions, including an EV6 GT souvenir exhibition, EV6 GT AR filter experience, tarot card readings, and tastings of various finger foods and beverages.

Additionally, on the 16th of the same month, a motion simulator drag racing experience event will be held for general visitors. A Kia official stated, “This event was planned to provide a special experience for EV6 GT customers, including car and driving enthusiasts,” and added, “We hope customers enjoy experiencing the amazing performance of the EV6 GT.”
