According to a Media Tomato poll (commissioned by News Tomato, conducted via wireless ARS over three days from the 26th to the 28th, surveying 1,009 adults nationwide aged 18 and over), 58.7% of respondents said they heard "Biden." Those who said they heard "Nallimyeon," as explained by the Presidential Office, accounted for 29.0%, and 12.4% answered that they were unsure.

The controversy concerns remarks President Yoon made to Foreign Minister Park Jin and others while walking out of an event with U.S. President Joe Biden. A scene was reported in the media where he seemed to say, "If those XXs in the National Assembly don’t approve, what if Biden feels embarrassed?" However, the Presidential Office later explained that he said "Nallimyeon," not "Biden."

According to the Presidential Office’s explanation, "those XXs" referred to the Korean National Assembly, not the U.S. Congress. Regarding whether an apology should be made to the National Assembly and the Democratic Party, 60.8% of respondents said an apology is necessary. Those who said an apology is unnecessary accounted for 33.5%, and 5.7% were unsure.

Regarding the brief 30-minute Korea-Japan summit, 55.8% responded that it was a failed meeting due to the lack of mention of historical issues, while 37.6% said it was a meaningful meeting marking the first step toward improving Korea-Japan relations.

When asked to rate the President’s visit, 54.1% gave a score between 0 and 25 points, the highest proportion. This was followed by 28.7% giving 75 to 100 points, 9.7% giving 50 to 75 points, and 6.4% giving 25 to 50 points.

Regarding President Yoon’s governance, negative evaluations accounted for 65.5% (57.2% saying he is doing very poorly, 8.3% saying he is generally doing poorly), and positive evaluations were 32.8% (20.6% saying he is generally doing well, 12.2% saying he is doing very well).
