[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Shinsegae Duty Free announced on the 30th that it has donated 30 million KRW to support the Eco School creation project being carried out by Jung-gu Office in Seoul.
The Eco School project transforms unused spaces within elementary schools into natural learning centers and environmental rest areas, creating an eco-friendly educational environment that positively influences students' emotions and character development, and allows them to deeply internalize environmental issues such as climate change and carbon neutrality. The funds donated by Shinsegae Duty Free will be used for the Eco School creation project at Namsan Elementary School.
Over the past four years, Shinsegae Duty Free has continuously supported mudflat conservation activities on Yeongjongdo Island and has made efforts to preserve the environment by being the first in the industry to replace air caps with green bags and moving racks instead of cloth bags, aiming for 0% plastic use.
A representative from Shinsegae Duty Free stated, “We plan to continue various social contribution activities for coexistence with nature as a corporate citizen actively engaged in environmental protection.”
