"With the power of 570,000 Gangseo-gu residents, we will surely achieve the revitalization of the old downtown."

Seoul Gangseo-gu (Mayor Kim Tae-woo) held the 'Old Downtown Revitalization Resident Communication Supporters Launch Ceremony' at 3 p.m. on the 29th in the district office's large conference room.

Previously, until the 22nd, the district recruited resident communication supporters who would directly communicate with residents during redevelopment and reconstruction processes in old downtown areas such as Hwagok-dong and Deungchon-dong and gather various ideas.

The recruitment saw participation from diverse generations across Gangseo-gu, from people in their 20s to their 70s, reflecting residents' strong desire for old downtown revitalization.

The district selected a total of 50 people after reviewing age, residence area, and relevance to development projects, awarding appointment certificates and holding the launch ceremony to announce the supporters' inauguration.

The supporters will engage in various activities for old downtown revitalization over the next two years, including idea provision and policy promotion.

Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, “The first pledge after my inauguration was to create a 'high-quality balanced city where the old downtown comes alive.' For this, not only the district office and experts but also the participation of residents is most important,” adding, “I expect the resident communication supporters to faithfully serve as a strong bridge connecting the district and residents.”
