The College of Engineering at Pukyong National University signed a business agreement with Bitouji on the 28th at the Engineering Building 1 conference room, agreeing to cooperate in strengthening industrial competitiveness in the next-generation semiconductor field, research and development, and nurturing innovative talent through strategic business partnership.
Under the agreement, Bitouji promised to donate one unit each of the metal-organic chemical vapor deposition equipment (MOCVD) for power semiconductor manufacturing processes and the hydrogen chemical vapor deposition equipment (HVPE) currently operated on-site to Pukyong National University. The new value of the equipment amounts to 5 billion KRW.
Pukyong National University and Bitouji will utilize the equipment for discovering industry-academia joint research and development projects, conducting industry-academia projects, and training specialized personnel.
Additionally, Pukyong National University will strive to establish and operate curricula reflecting corporate demands while nurturing talent in the next-generation semiconductor field.
Starting in 2024, Pukyong National University plans to establish a semiconductor department and graduate school, producing about 250 semiconductor specialists annually, including 50 undergraduates and 200 graduate students.
