Kwon-Soo Kim Appointed as 12th President of Gyeongnam Development Corporation ... Commitment to Sustainable ESG Management

Kwon-Soo Kim was inaugurated as the 12th president of the Gyeongnam Development Corporation.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Kim Gwonsu, the 12th president of Gyeongnam Development Corporation, received his appointment letter from Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, on the 29th and immediately began work following the inauguration ceremony.

According to Gyeongnam Province, in his inaugural speech, President Kim emphasized the promotion of management innovation to restore fairness and transparency in personnel and organization, and to strengthen efficiency.

He added, "To overcome difficult management conditions, leadership based on communication and empathy is most important," and urged, "I hope all employees take pride and confidence in contributing to the welfare of the residents and do their best in their respective duties without wavering."

He set "Sustainable Environment-Social-Governance (ESG) management to realize residents' happiness and create future value" as the future vision of Gyeongnam Development Corporation.

As directions for development, he proposed ▲establishing environmental management policies and strategies ▲regional balanced development and shared value creation ▲improvement of governance.

President Kim plans to visit the construction site of the apartment complex in Hyeondong, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon City, a policy project for "providing affordable housing for ordinary citizens," to inspect sound construction and safety management.

He said, "I consider it an immense honor to be inaugurated as the president of Gyeongnam Development Corporation, which is leading the welfare improvement of 3.4 million Gyeongnam residents and regional development in difficult times, and at the same time, I feel a heavy responsibility," adding, "I will do my best to realize residents' happiness through sustainable ESG management."

President Kim graduated from Gyeongsang National University, earned a doctorate from the same graduate school and Seoul Venture Graduate School, and has served as a member of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Assembly, standing auditor of the Housing Management Corporation, and president of Gyeongnam Domin Newspaper.
