The COVID-19 Vaccination Promotion Team announced that to prepare for additional COVID-19 vaccinations during the winter season, a total of 5 million doses of Moderna's Omicron BA.1 variant-based bivalent vaccine have been introduced into the country from the 15th to this day.
Sequentially, 805,000 doses arrived on the 15th, 806,000 doses on the 17th, 803,000 doses on the 19th, 771,000 doses on the 22nd, 807,000 doses on the 23rd, and 1,008,000 doses on the 25th.
As of the 27th, 101,949 people have participated in the pre-registration for the updated vaccine vaccination over the past two days.
The Promotion Team plans to first utilize Moderna's updated vaccine and will promptly introduce Pfizer's BA.1-based bivalent vaccine later.
Additional vaccinations using the updated vaccine will prioritize vulnerable health groups such as seniors aged 60 and over, immunocompromised individuals, residents and workers in nursing hospitals and facilities, mental health promotion facilities, and facilities for the disabled and homeless. Same-day vaccinations using leftover vaccines and pre-registered vaccinations will begin on the 11th of next month. Same-day vaccinations are open to participants regardless of whether they belong to the first priority group.
