Park Woo-ryang, Shinan County Governor, Elected Vice President of the Korea Association of Mayors, County Governors, and District Heads


[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] On the 28th, Park Woo-ryang, the mayor of Sinan County, Jeollanam-do, announced that he was elected as the vice chairman of the "8th Term Republic of Korea Mayors, County Governors, and District Heads Council (hereinafter referred to as the Council)."


The Council is composed of heads of 226 basic local governments nationwide and serves as a representative local government council that can present opinions of local governments on important national policies, major initiatives, and related laws and amendments.


This meeting was held to form the new executive team following the start of the 8th term, where Cho Jae-gu, mayor of Nam-gu, Daegu, was elected as the chairman of the Council, and executives to support the chairman were also elected.


Mayor Park Woo-ryang of Sinan said, "Local governments must become the main actors of a new era," and expressed his gratitude for being elected vice chairman, stating, "I will do my best to assist the chairman of the Council for true decentralization of autonomy."


Earlier, on July 27, Mayor Park was elected as the chairman of the Sustainable Development Local Governments Council, and on August 30, as the chairman of the Jeonnam Mayors and County Governors Council, leading efforts for the development of local governments.
