Kim Bu-yeong, Changnyeong County Governor, Accused of 'Election Law Violation'... Police Secure Mobile Phones and Others in Search Warrant

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] On the morning of the 29th, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency conducted a search and seizure at the office and residence of Kim Bu-young, the mayor of Changnyeong County.

According to the police, Mayor Kim was accused of bribing candidates during the nationwide local elections held in June and was reported on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.

The police reportedly secured numerous pieces of evidence, including mobile phones, during the search and seizure.

Seven individuals, including Mayor Kim, have been targeted for investigation regarding the allegations, and summons interviews with related parties are scheduled to be conducted soon.
