[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Electric vehicle brand Polestar announced on the 29th that it will unveil its first sports utility vehicle (SUV), the Polestar 3, for the first time on the 12th of next month (local time) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
This model is based on new electric technology developed and shared by Volvo Cars. It features NVIDIA's centralized core computing, as well as advanced safety systems supplied by Volvo, Zenseact, Luminar, and SmartEye.
Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, said, "We redefined the SUV for the electrification era, focusing on fundamental aspects of the vehicle's proportions, posture, and aerodynamics during the design process."
The vehicle is equipped with a rear-wheel-based dual motor powertrain. It includes a dual-clutch system with electric torque vectoring, and adaptive dual-chamber air suspension and active dampers are standard features. The dampers can be adjusted in increments of 2 milliseconds according to road conditions.
As an optional feature, customers can choose the Performance Pack, which delivers up to 380 kW and 93.4 kg·m of torque. It supports Polestar engineering chassis tuning for the active dampers and air suspension. Design highlights are also added to the valve caps, seat belts, and laser-engraved interior lighting strips.
