[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced on the 29th that it discussed cooperation plans with Tamir Pardo, former director of Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, and Yozma Group Korea, a global investment company, to promote industrial exchange in the field of cybersecurity with Israel.

Israel ranks second in the global cybersecurity market share after the United States and is a country with high national interest in promoting the cybersecurity industry. Accordingly, KISA initiated this meeting with Israeli officials to strengthen cybersecurity cooperation between the two countries.

On this occasion, KISA held a webinar on the 28th in collaboration with Yozma Group Korea, an Israeli venture capital firm, where seven promising domestic information security companies received evaluations of their competitiveness in the global market. The webinar is significant as it provides an opportunity for Korean information security companies to have their technologies and market value objectively assessed, laying the foundation to enhance their competitiveness for global market entry.

Director Lee Won-tae said, "We have high expectations for the cybersecurity cooperation activities between the two countries initiated by this meeting," adding, "KISA will continue to serve as a bridge to help promising Korean information security companies aiming for global expansion strengthen technological and investment cooperation in the cybersecurity field with various global countries."
