SMG Yonsei Hospital Protects Patient Safety SMG Yonsei Hospital, operated by the medical corporation Happo Medical Foundation, held a Patient Safety Week event in celebration of Safety Day.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] SMG Yonsei Hospital, operated by the medical corporation Happo Medical Foundation, held a Patient Safety Week event for three days from the 27th to the 29th in celebration of Patient Safety Day.

This event was organized to raise awareness about various types of safety accidents and infection prevention that can occur in hospitals, enhance the awareness of patients, guardians, and medical staff, and create a safer hospital environment.

The event featured various activities including ▲ quizzes ▲ a Near-Miss Error Reporting Champion contest ▲ a parody poster contest ▲ and word puzzles.

The quiz event was conducted as a traveling OX quiz to increase the interest of patients, guardians, and all staff. The quiz, themed on patient safety and infection control, was presented directly to patients and guardians in outpatient clinics and wards, with gifts provided to encourage attention to patient safety.

In particular, the Near-Miss Error Reporting Champion contest visualized minor situations that could potentially lead to major accidents. The collected data will be reviewed for improvements and used as a foundation to create a safer hospital.

Hospital Director Kim Jeong-hwan stated, “Patient safety requires the participation of all hospital staff as well as patients and their guardians,” and added, “We will continue activities to improve awareness of patient safety among visitors as well as provide education to all staff to make SMG Yonsei Hospital a safer place.”
