Gangwon-do is very popular as a travel destination

According to Gmarket on the 29th, demand for domestic accommodations and camping supplies surged from the 1st to the 26th of this month compared to the previous month. Gangwon-do, a representative domestic travel destination, saw the highest popularity with an 89% increase, followed by Gyeongju (42%), Gyeonggi (38%), Chungcheong (33%), and Busan (24%). Sales of amusement park tickets jumped 132%, and sales of mats (153%), outdoor chairs (55%), and outdoor tables (23%) also rose.
For camping supplies, sales of outdoor thermal and heating products increased by 144%. Sleeping bags (129%), camping bags (49%), camping mats (43%), hiking clothing and gear (39%), and cooking utensils (28%) were also sold in large quantities.
A Gmarket representative stated, “As it is a good season to travel domestically and with the lifting of outdoor mask mandates, we expect outdoor activity demand to increase further, so we have planned various promotions.”
