Cutty Sark is a whisky that originated during the Prohibition era in the 1920s in the United States, a time when fake whiskies mixed with water were widespread. It is widely known as the favorite whisky of "William McCoy," a captain and bootlegger famous for dealing only in genuine whisky at the time.
The newly introduced Cutty Sark Prohibition is a new whisky from Cutty Sark, with an unusually high alcohol content of 50% among blended whiskies. It is ideal for enjoying on the rocks with ice, and especially when enjoyed as a highball or cocktail, it allows one to experience the whisky's original taste and aroma.
It is matured in American sherry oak casks using the finest single malt and grain whisky distillates, and features a deep flavor enhanced by the traditional whisky production method of Non Chill Filtering. The citrus scent of stone fruits such as peach and plum harmonizes with the sweet aroma of honey, and the creamy, heavy body offers sweetness from sherry oak, raisins, and fruits.
